We chose this hotel for a brief city break. We stayed for one night. We are very familiar with Edinburgh so felt like it was a great choice. On entering the hotel, we weren't entirely sure where to go. It's not well signposted inside. However we soon saw others coming and going from reception upstairs. The hotel has a boutique vibe. Nice decor and ambience. Our room was small but pretty - fine for one night. We had an excellent view of Edinburgh with the hustle and bustle of Princes Street and Waverly below. I was worried we could be bothered by the noise, being somewhere so central, but that wasn't the case. We didn't eat in the hotel but enjoyed a lovely drink in the bar. We were initially seated at the back of the bar, even though it wasn't very busy but we were able to move to a window seat on request. Staff were polite and accommodating. We paid for validated parking in the St James Quarter which was super handy and at £15 for 24hrs, very reasonable for city centre parking. Cons - a strong smell of coffee throught the building at all times of the day and night. - an early morning delivery to the hotel (5.30am) right beneath our window. Not great when you've come for a relaxing child free stay! They honestly couldn't have been any louder. - the wall above our bed was decorated with the sript/screenplay from Trainspotting. Perhaps not conducive to a romantic night away! Pros - Great location - Cosy room - comfortable bed - quiet within the hotel itself - fabulous cocktail menu All in all a decent stay at a reasonable price. May return again.

Best Breakfast I have experienced in a long time!! Room was absolutely stunning. Decorated in Trainspotting wallpaper. First class location on Princess Street with views of the castle. All staff friendly and attentive. Honestly, one of the best hotels ever!

The hotel was a beautifully appointed boutique hotel with gorgeous public areas and fantastic bedrooms, location was perfect for both the old town and new, and train station. Elena on reception was lovely, breakfast was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel

Hotel is literally across the road from Waverley Station - fantastic location. The rooms are lovely - very spacious and very comfortable. Bar has a good range of drinks including Monkey 47, which was a bonus! Tons of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity since it’s right in the centre of town. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Edinburgh!

Lovely hotel. Staff friendly and room was perfect. Comfy bed, great shower little snacks provided complimentary. Would definitely stay again and the location is excellent. Couldn’t want for more. I was lucky to have a view of the balmoral clock too.
